Profile Bio
Because this is not theory. It is lived experience.
My talk, 'Changing Mindsets to Save Lives', is built on real events. It reveals what pressure actually does to the mind, how control can be regained under stress, and why influence only works when it starts with understanding.
My perspective is shaped by military operations, hostage survival training, and years working in high-stakes environments where mindset, trust, and decision-making directly impacted survival. From teaching Resistance to Interrogation to Special Forces, to negotiating face-to-face with insurgents in Afghanistan to secure life-saving intelligence, I operated in roles where influencing outcomes was critical and the cost of getting it wrong was immediate.
Audiences don’t just leave informed—they leave equipped.
They learn how to recognise pressure before it drives decisions, stabilise thinking in critical moments, and influence outcomes by understanding behaviour rather than reacting to it.
The result is clearer thinking, better decisions, and more effective leadership when it matters most.

Talk Description
Changing Mindsets To Save Lives
A unique, engaging and inspiring real-life talk on performance under pressure.
Changing Mindsets to Save Lives takes audiences inside the reality of extreme pressure—from the shock of capture to negotiating face-to-face with the enemy—revealing what happens to the mind when the stakes are real.
Through powerful personal stories, this talk breaks down how pressure impacts thinking, decision-making, and behaviour, and shows how control can be regained in critical moments. It also demonstrates how influence works in practice—why understanding people, not reacting to them, is the key to changing outcomes.
Audiences leave with practical strategies they can use immediately to manage stress, think clearly under pressure, and influence others more effectively in their own environments.
Duration: 40-minute talk + 15-minute Q&A (approx. 55 minutes total)
